Project Overview

This project was created to highlight the natural beauty of Banff, its breathtaking mountain landscapes, and iconic travel experiences in a concise and visually engaging format. By combining cinematic footage, animated graphics, and clean visual storytelling, the video presents an immersive narrative that appeals to travel and adventure enthusiasts. The project emphasizes Banff’s appeal as a world-renowned destination, showcasing its scenic views, outdoor activities, and serene environment.


I brought Banff’s atmosphere to life through motion design, using smooth animations and seamless transitions to transform real-world footage into a visually compelling experience. By blending dynamic typography, motion graphics, and cinematic visuals, I created an immersive video that captures the essence of Banff’s natural beauty, adventure lifestyle, and calming mountain environment.


The Process

The Banff featurette video was developed as a short-form motion graphics piece designed to highlight the destination’s natural beauty in a concise and visually engaging format.

1. Visual Research & Direction I explored Banff’s landscapes, travel imagery, and tourism branding to define a calm, cinematic visual direction focused on nature, scale, and serenity.

2. Narrative Structuring I developed a short visual flow that transitions smoothly between key scenes such as mountain ranges, lakes, and outdoor experiences, ensuring a cohesive storytelling rhythm.

3. Motion Design Execution Using After Effects, I created smooth transitions, animated typography, and subtle motion effects that enhance the cinematic feel without overpowering the natural visuals.

4. Audio & Final Polish A calm ambient soundtrack was integrated with precise timing to reinforce mood and immersion, followed by final rendering optimized for large display screens.
